Your appointment time has been reserved especially for you. If you are unable to keep this reservation, please provide us with at least 24hrs of notice so that another patient can use this time. If you do not provide sufficient notice, you will be charged a “No Show” fee, which is equivalent to the cost of the treatment.

Scapular movement and control is an essential comp Scapular movement and control is an essential component to shoulder function and eliminating persistent shoulder pain. Many rehab protocols for the shoulder are missing scapular exercises.

Hip flexor stretching may be an exercise you have Hip flexor stretching may be an exercise you have been prescribed, but have a hard time "feeling it".

Often, patient's will say it hurts their lower back or they don't feel the stretch high up on the hip but in the lower thigh only. This is a common issue, especially with individuals who have a lot of hip mobility like dancers or gymnasts.

One of the key missing elements with this movement is getting the pelvis in the right position and spine neutral prior to engaging in the actual stretch.

If so, you may not be activating one of our deep core stabilizers - the Transverse Abdominus (TA). This muscle can often be difficult for people to recruit, especially if they have learned to compensate using some of our more superficial ab muscles. 

This video looks at an easy way for you to test if you have the ability to activate the TA and get an idea as to what it should feel like to create that core stabilization and abdomimal brace.

Pelvic position can be a contributing factor to lo Pelvic position can be a contributing factor to lower back pain, specifically what we classify as an "Anterior Pelvic tilt". This pelvic position places a constant compressive load through the lower back potentially contributing to your back pain. 

Corrective exercise often focus on stretching or strengthening the hip flexors. Despite the hip flexors being involved there are many other structures that often get forgotten. The lower abdominals, hamstrings, adductors, rib cage and diaphragm are all involved in pelvic positioning and need to be addressed as well.

This exercise targets all those area's in ONE exercise. Hence, the reason we love it so much.
