- Registered Kinesiologist
Jay Flannigan completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo (UW). From his time as an undergraduate, he gained a deep appreciation for the human body from an understanding of anatomical structures along with the biomechanical demands of movement. He has been working at physiotherapy clinics to provide support to individuals that require exercise rehabilitation. Primarily, Jay assisted clients in managing pain, improving strength to reduce instability, postural corrections and improving range of motion. He has aided his clients through exercise prescription and progressions, soft tissue release and K-taping.
He has completed his registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, becoming a Registered Kinesiologist. He strives to incorporate a holistic and mindful approach for his clients, promoting their rehabilitation journey and taking on the role of coach when motivation is needed. He has also taken his coaching outside of the gym where he has worked with many young baseball teams and assisted in coaching high school baseball and badminton.
As an avid baseball player, Jay has represented the varsity team at UW, and is currently playing for Cornwall in the NCBL Tier 1. As such, he has experienced firsthand many sports related injuries and the journey towards rehabilitation. His education in Kinesiology cemented his belief that physical activity is essential to a healthy well-rounded lifestyle.
